Ismail Matar :

Artiste palestinien basé à Bruxelles, Ismail Matar (né en 1998) utilise la calligraphie, la peinture, l’art contemporain et l’art mural pour incarner des symboles d’espoir. Durant son séjour à Gaza, il a trouvé dans les murs des camps de réfugiés une toile pour son expression. Ces murs ont servi de plateforme authentique pour représenter les luttes de sa communauté. L’intention d’Ismail ne se limite pas à transmettre des messages politiques à travers son art ; il cherche avant tout à mettre en lumière des valeurs universelles telles que l’espoir, la liberté et les rêves. Considérant l’art comme un langage universel capable de transcender les barrières, Ismail vise à communiquer avec des publics divers. Il a animé des ateliers de calligraphie pour adultes et enfants en Palestine (Gaza), en Suède (Midsummer Garden ; Studio Ung à Stockholm) et en Belgique (Bruxelles, Courtrai).

Brussels-based, Palestinian artist Ismail Matar (b. 1998) employs calligraphy, painting, contemporary art and mural art to embody symbols of hope. During his time in Gaza, he found the walls of refugee camps to be a canvas for his expression. These walls provided an authentic platform to portray the struggles of his community. Ismail's intention isn't solely to convey political statements through his artwork; instead, he aims to emphasise universal values like hope, freedom, and dreams. Viewing art as a universal language capable of transcending barriers, Ismail aims at communicating to diverse audiences. Ismail Matar run workshops of calligraphy for adults and children in Palestine (Gaza), Sweden (Midsummer Gorden; Studioung in Stockholm), and Belgium (Brussels,Kortrijk).
