De banken moeten parkeren definitief onmogelijk maken in de straat die sinds de heraanleg twee jaar terug officieel een woonerf is. In de Moutstraat, tussen de Oude en de Nieuwe Graanmarkt in de Dansaertwijk, liggen verschillende scholen. Daarom moest de vernieuwde straat kindvriendelijk en autoluw zijn. De snelheid is beperkt tot 20 kilometer per uur en het aantal parkeerplaatsen werd drastisch beperkt bij de heraanleg twee jaar geleden. Omdat de aankleding van de straat op zich liet wachten, bleven auto's er echter wildparkeren. De zitbanken die momenteel geïnstalleerd worden moeten die praktijk nu voorgoed bannen uit de schoolstraat. De banken, vijftien in totaal, hebben grillige vormen. Ze zijn geassembleerd in Recyclart naar een ontwerp van architect Yannick Roels.
