Hoe oud is de avantgarde? Hoe hedendaags is 'oude' muziek? Een tweedaagse festival bij en in samenwerking met onze buren De Brigittinen. **Tempvs Fvgit (Corsica)** Het Corsicaans ensemble **TEMPVS FVGIT** brengt a capella traditionele en christelijke gezangen uit de dertiende tot de zestiende eeuw, die hun oorsprong vinden in de immer in nevelen gehulde Corsicaanse provincie Nebbiu (tussen Balagna en Bastia). De klankkleur doet dikwijls denken aan vroege byzantijnse zang maar je hoort er ook referenties aan de hele mediterrane wereld: het Middenoosten, Albanese schaapherders…. Het unieke aan deze formatie binnen de wereld van de Corsicaanse polyfonie ligt vooral in zijn klankkleur: een adembenemend amalgaam van hechte meerstemmigheid, gekruid met een heel ongepolijste, bijna ‘ruw’ timbre dat de eeuwenoude liederen springlevend maakt. Tijd wordt opgeheven. Dualiteit tussen profane en sacrale traditie vervaagt in de Corsicaanse nevel. Pure emotie! Nadat ze als rockdrummer had gewerkt, voegde ze zich bij de percussiegroep Kodo, waarmee ze tot 2010 de wereld rondtoerde. Naast taiko speelt ze ook koto en vervolmaakte ze zich in traditionele muziek. Ze ontwikkelde een eigen stijl als componist en muzikante, steeds diep geworteld in alle Japanse muziek- en danstradities. Ze werkte in verschillende producties van Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui en met andere kunstenaars. [www.facebook.com/tsubasa.taiko](http://www.facebook.com/tsubasa.taiko) **Laura Cannell (GB)** Deze dame grasduint doorheen eeuwen muziek om een nieuwe muzikale ruimte te creëren op basis van middeleeuwse monodische zang, lamentaties uit de renaissance en hedendaagse muziek. Haar improvisaties op dubbele blokfluit en polyfone viool zijn bezwerend en zweven moeiteloos tussen volkse traditie en erudiete avantgarde.
