De Canadese Inuitzangeres staat bekend om haar intense, fysieke optredens, die de sfeer van een sjamanistisch ritueel benaderen. Ze heeft samengewerkt met onder anderen Björk en Mike Patton en met haar album *Animism* kreeg ze in 2014 de prestigieuze Canadese Polaris muziekprijs. Tagaq heeft zichzelf de kunst van de keelzang aangeleerd, maar haar nummers gaan veel verder dan de traditionele Inuitmuziek. Ze zoekt de grenzen op en legt net zo makkelijk verbanden met jazz als heavy metal”(Holland Festival). Eind 2016 bracht ze ‘Retribution’ uit. Ze is een forse activistische stem die het opneemt voor de door globalizering en klimaatopwarming bedreigde Inuitcultuur. In Recyclart staat ze op het podium met een violist en een drummer.
