The School of Architecture University of Talca werd in 1999 opgericht en ligt aan de basis van een resem academische initiatieven die niet kaderen in een ‘traditionele’ architectuuropleiding. Daarnaast produceren ze ook heelwat kleinschalige architecturale werken. Het project heeft een grote sociale en geo-culturele uitstraling bij de Chileense bewolers van Central Valley.

 Jose Luis Uribe Ortiz, architect graduated in 2007 (Talca, Chile), he holds a Master Degree in Theory and Practice of the Architecture Project (UPC Barcelona, Spain, 2010). Has published arti­cles in various magazines and hold lectures in Chile, EEUU, Mexico, Peru, Argentina, Uruguay, Ecuador, Spain, Brazil and Portugal. In 2013 he published the book Talca, Cuestión de Educación (Talca, a Matter of Education, Arquine Publishing House) which brought him in 2014 the Latin-American Prize of Architecture and Urbanism (IX BIAU) and the Architectural Book Awards, organized by the Deutsches Architekturmuseum (German Museum of Architecture) in Frankfurt. He teaches at the School of Architecture of the University of Talca.
