Welke betaalbare oplossingen bestaan er? En hoe kunnen we ervoor zorgen dat alle belanghebbenden erbij worden betrokken? Welke rol kunnen cultuur en de kunsten in dit proces spelen? In het kader van het **New European Bauhaus Festival** opent het **Trans Europe Halles** netwerk van culturele centra het debat rond de nieuwste internationale initiatieven en projecten op het gebied van de duurzame transitie van culturele ruimten en gebouwen. Op het programma: **Rebuilding To Last** (Europa) Een project van Creative Europe om de capaciteit van culturele organisaties aan de basis en in gemeenschappen op te bouwen om de duurzame toekomst van hun gebouwen te begrijpen en aan te pakken, en om aan te tonen dat baanbrekende milieu-innovatie, goedkope circulaire ontwerppraktijken of toegang tot groene vastgoedinvesteringen kunnen bijdragen tot een duurzamere toekomst voor cultuur. **The Global Centre for Climate Resilience through Arts and Design** (Canada) Een ambitieus project geleid door OCAD University en de stad Toronto, Canada, dat de Canada Malting Silos opnieuw wil gebruiken en lokale gemeenschappen, onderzoekers, kunstenaars, ontwerpers, vernieuwers en beleidsmakers uit Toronto, Canada, Europa en andere delen van de wereld wil samenbrengen om de rol van kunst en design in de strijd tegen de klimaatverandering opnieuw te evalueren Trans Europe Halles is partner in dit project, samen met ERA Architects, een Canadese studio die gespecialiseerd is in het herbestemmen van historische gebouwen. Een vergelijkend perspectief zal worden geschetst door **Frederik Serroen - team bouwmeester maître architecte (BMA)**, die enkele van de praktijken en uitdagingen van het gewest zal delen.
