Deze aflevering brengt als vroeg lenteoffensief de mediterrane clubsfeer van het broeierige en kosmopolitische Tel Aviv naar Brussel. Axum, bij ons nog onbekend, is momenteel het strafste dancehallduo van Israël. Twee jongens van Yemenitische en Ethiopische afkomst die reggae en hip hop overtuigend mengen met Midden-Oosterse klankkleuren. De productie is in de gouden handen van DJ Sabbo die meekomt voor een stomende dj-set. Deze zeer vindingrijke en veelzijdige studiotovenaar goochelt met moombahton, dancehall, juke en hip hop en werkte reeds met Damian Marley, Rye Rye en Burro Banton. Nog uit Tel Aviv, komt DJ PR.O.P die het verschil maakt met originele mash ups van Balkanmuziek, dancehall en hip hop. Dichter bij huis, wordt in Nederland sinds 2009 de tropical bass-scène gevoed door de Amsterdamse Bomb Diggy Crew, garant voor eclectische selecties van soca, baile funk, kuduro en nueva cumbia. In Brussel is DJ Mellow geen onbekende meer. Denk aan de talrijke Low Up feestjes sinds 2008 en zijn fel gesmaakte eerste eigen dansvloerkraker, “Esta Picao”, vorig jaar uitgebracht op zijn eigen label Low Up Records (met remix van DJ Sabbo)!
