De optredens zijn telkens zo onvoorspelbaar en spannend dat ze veel weg hebben van het bezwerende van shamanisme. Aanvankelijk (1998-2012) gebruikten ze bijna steevast gitaren en speelgoedinstrumenten om hun muzikaal idioom te articuleren. Eind verleden jaar maakten ze daar een abrupt einde aan) om zich toe te spitsen op zelfgeknutselde snaarinstrumenten en gedissecteerde elektronica en zodoende heel hun muziekuniversum een nieuw geluid te geven. Dit nieuw begin werd gedocumenteerd op een dubbele LP '[Art Is A Tear Of Noise And Infinite Silence](http://www.thewire.co.uk/articles/9395%20)', uitgebracht op Discrepant records in oktober 2012. Dit wordt dus hun eerste Belgische concert met dit nieuwe concept. MCIAA speelde o.a. met Sonic Youth, Christian Marclay, Thurston Moore, Keiji Haino, Lee Ranaldo, Jim O'Rourke, Loren Connors, Jackie-O Motherfucker, Nels Cline, Text of Light, Steve Roden, Okkyung Lee, Mats Gustafsson. Ze stonden o.a. op het All Tomorrow Parties festival waarvan Thurston Moore curator was en hun discografie is behoorlijk duizelingwekkend. **Rough Americana** is de vruchtbare samenwerking tussen **Morgan Craft** en zijn vriendin, **DJ Mutamassik**. Het geëngageerde duo grossiert in een resem spannende improviserende muziekstijlen anno nu. De ‘Afro-Amerikaanse Viking’ Craft en de Italo-Egyptische roots van Mutamassik staan garant voor muzikale invloeden van Memphis, Tennessee tot Memphis, Egypte. Mutamassik is één van de pioniers van de Sa’aidi hardcore en experte in hetgeen ze noemt ‘Pan-Afrabic Immigrant sounds’. Zowel afro-mediterrane hiphop als baladi breakbeats laat ze uit de boxen spatten, broederlijk naast meer noisy en drone-achtige collages.
