Een optreden van dit Egyptisch trio blijkt telkens weer een onvergetelijke ervaring, die het publiek in nachtelijke electrorave clubs of én festivalweide in totale verbazing achterlaat. De lange composities van electro chaabi toetsenist [**Islam Chipsy**](http://thequietus.com/articles/14507-islam-chipsy-eek-interview) evolueren tergend maar onweerstaanbaar naar een explosieve dansclimax, die door de twee live drummers (**Islam Ta’Ta** & **Khaled Mando**) trance-achtig begeleid worden. Hij stond o.a. op Transmusicales in Rennes, Transmediale in Berlijn en deze zomer op Dour en Pukkelpop. Première voor België. De leading lady van de avantarabic electronische muziek, [**Mutamassik**](http://www.discrepant.net/products/544126-mutamassik-symbols-follow), heeft een schitterende nieuw album uit ‘Symbols Follow’ waarmee ze zich opnieuw profileert als onbetwiste koningin van een zeer donkere, onderhuidse en gelaagde muziek die dreigend op je afkomt en als een virus de controle over je brein overneemt. Zelf omschrijft ze het als “MELANQOL BAROQUE parq dunq ARABIFIED SWAMP MUSIC darq punq QUBTI BEATS in addition to transcendental sonic experiments”. Alleszins: van een rauwe, brutale en compromisloze schoonheid. In London levende Portugees [**Gonzo**](https://soundcloud.com/discrepant/gonzo-dies-irae-tape-preview) aka Gonçalo F Cardoso, labelbaas van [Discrepant](http://www.discrepant.net/). Hij lijmt naadloos veldopnames en dansbeats aan elkaar maar heeft voor deze gelegenheid een ‘dabke special’ voor u klaarstaan. Dabke is de traditionele trouw- en feestmuziek uit het midden oosten (Syrië, Palestina…) waarvan de electronische variant vooral door Omar Souleiman (Holidays 2010) bij een breed publiek is doorgedrongen. Steeds verrassend, steeds zichzelf vernieuwend, onophoudelijk op zoek naar nieuw materiaal blijft [**Lowdjo** ](http://www.lowdjo.info/)één van de meest veelzijdige en intelligente muziekalchemisten van België (en daarbuiten). Hij grossiert evenzeer in vintage, etnica als futuristische electronica.
