Elke laatste donderdag van de maand stellen onze kunstenaars-in-residentie hun deuren open voor het publiek. In onze Bar kan u een stukje eten en een gratis concert bijwonen. Tussen 20 en 22 uur is er een evenement in de zaal of een vernissage in de Bar Recyclart.

 **PAÑOS
tentoonstelling**

De traditie van de paño (pañuelo is Spaans voor zakdoek) stamt uit de jaren veertig, toen veel Mexicaanse gevangenen niet konden lezen en schrijven. Het versieren van zakdoeken was voor de **Chicano**-gevangen in Texas, Californië en New Mexico de enige manier om te communiceren met de buitenwereld. Nog steeds worden dit soort zakdoekjes vaak naar vrienden en familie gestuurd, in plaats van brieven. In sommige gevangenissen zijn de zakdoeken nog steeds een populair ruilmiddel.
 De meeste doeken bevatten tatoeage-achtige afbeeldingen van schedels, clowns, lowriders en pin-ups. De thema's van de paños variëren van religieus tot pornografisch, en je vindt tussen de doodshoofden en tieten ook teddyberen en verliefde eenhoorns. Tot nu toe bleven de paños vaak bij familieleden of binnen de muren van de gevangenis bewaard. Kunstverzamelaar [**Reno Leplat-Torti**](http://www.vice.com/read/paos-chicanos-171) raakte enorm geïnteresseerd in de zakdoeken en bouwde een band op met familieleden van gevangenen. In de tentoonstelling is de verzameling van Leplat-Torti te zien, bestaande uit meer dan driehonderd originele paños, die de families hem de afgelopen zeven jaar toestuurden.

**LOS TARASCOS** concert

Los Tarascos is een mariachi groep met leden uit Mexico, Honduras en Spanje met typische bezetting van gitaar, guitarrón (mexicaanse basgitaar), vihuela (kleine mexicaanse gitaar), viool en trompet. Ze brengen een onweerstaanbaar repertoire van pure Mexicaanse folk tot feestelijke liedjes uit verschillende landen van Zuid-Amerika. Van de eerste noot: “Alegria total” ! Ze speelden o.a. in Bozar (opening Frida Kahlo expo en voor het feest van de Mexicaanse gemeenschap in België).

*“Ça”is introvert werk, waarvan de inhoud slechts door negatieomschreven kan worden: “Ça”is noch een allegorie van mijn angsten, noch een enscenering van ervaringen. Het is nog minder een pretieuse voorstelling van de werkelijkheid. “Ça”leeft in ons en omvat een leefwereld met onduidelijke grenzen en onpeilbare dieptes, waarin het medium fotografie zichzelf bevraagt”*

**PARALLELE GRAPHIQUE** tentoonstelling

Parallèle Graphique is een collectief voor typografie, layout, webdesign, logo’s, illustratie etc. dat verleden jaar van start ging onder impuls van Chloé Plassart, Thomas D’Addario et Marceau Truffaut. De drie hebben verschillende stijlen en hun werkjes worden op 15 of 25 exemplaren ge(zeef)drukt.
