De aardappelen worden via elektrische bedrading verbonden met de synthesizer en functioneren hierbij als bio/elektrochemische weerstanden binnen het elektronische circuit. Deze ‘Controlled Voltage’ modulaire synthesizer heeft een toonhoogtebereik van één octaaf, dus twaalf toetsen verbonden met evenveel aardappelen. Na verloop van tijd zullen de aardappelen starten met uitdrogen wat resulteert in een lagere toonhoogte. Door gebruik te maken van gezonde ‘Vlaamse patatten’ kan deze installatie gedurende weken blijven functioneren.
