Gesprekken, installaties, nieuwe collecties, open vragen. Gemodereerd door Nina Poels & Medea Ghijsen, werkzaam bij Sophia, het Belgisch netwerk voor genderstudies. We hebben het met hem over zijn positie en blik op mode, representatie en gender. [**+ ANNELIES WOUTERS : SHOE BE OR NOT**](https://www.instagram.com/shoebeornot/) Hedendaagse schoenen zijn vaak genderspecifiek of ze verwijzen naar een bepaald gebruiksdoel (sportschoenen, wandelschoenen, laarzen, badslippers,…). Met haar afstudeercollectie dook Annelies diep in haar eigen gevoelswereld om op basis daarvan schoenen te ontwerpen, vrij van gender- of gebruiksconnotaties. In kleurrijke pop-art stijl verwerkt ze visuele en symbolische vertalingen van gevoelens tot fantastische schoenen waarvan zelfs de hakken verwijzen naar haar manier van in het leven staan. **[+ JOHN BOY](https://www.instagram.com/ladyboyjohn/)** Performance: I WALK FAST CAUSE I’M FURIOUS Sculpture: FAST AND FURIOUS Onder invloed van nitro en bodybuilding tooien zij zich in hun mooiste carrosserie; een legering van lichaam en transportmiddel in relatie tot de straat, tot interacties. Schoenen als driftende banden, adem als een ronkende motor en woorden als acceleratie. Het performatieve en textielwerk van John Boy komt voort uit de verschillende processen die verbonden zijn met ornamentiek.
