MEXICO (DISTRICTO FEDERAL) ============================================= Lezing IBAI 12.02.14 [Architectuur & stedenbouw](https://recyclart.be/nl/agenda?category=architectuur-stedenbouw) Doors: 19.30 Presentation: 20.30 (in English) 3€ Mexico City ontwikkelt zich als een horizontale wolkenkrabber zonder omhulsel: intens, druk, divers maar – bijna op het saaie af – plat. De stad is opgebouwd uit miljoenen compacte woonerven waaruit een collectieve cultuur ontsproten is. Langzaam ontwikkelt deze mega-metropool een schuchter manifest over de schoonheid van ‘vlakte’ en egaliteit. Haar cultuur van horizontaliteit is zo omvattend geworden dat belangrijke verschillen in macht en klasse vervagen naarmate de stad verouderd. De lezing zal deze observaties toetsen aan de casus van de uitdeinende stad **Nezahualcoyotl**, die nu deel geworden is van de hoofdstad. Architect **Felix Madrazo** werkte in Mexico city en Rotterdam. Na het behalen van zijn master in het Berlage instituut werd hij medestichter van het collectief Supersudaca. In 2007 startte hij zijn eigen bureau IND (Inter National Design) samen met Arman Akdogan. Tezelfdertijd geeft hij les aan de TU Delft / Ths Why Factory en had hij de leiding van een studio in het Strelka instituut (Moskou). De lezing zal in het Engels gehouden worden.
