Degenen die ons door de jaren heen volgen, herinneren zich wellicht CAN's Greetings from Londen in 2017. Maar Londen, zo dicht bij Brussel, is één van die steden die nooit hetzelfde blijft, zozeer verandert en vernieuwt ze zichzelf. Deze keer hebben we de eer om een nieuwe gidsbeurt te krijgen van Amin Taha, oprichter van het architectenbureau [GROUPWORK.](/admin/evenements/1553/groupwork.uk.com) Het bureau was in het nieuws - ver buiten de gespecialiseerde architectuurpers - met hun project 15 Clerkenwell Close, dat wij - in alle subjectiviteit - vrij briljant vinden, met sloop bedreigd omdat sommige buren het niet wilden, zozeer zelfs dat Amin Taha de naam "London most polemical architect" kreeg. Naast dit project, op zich veel rijker en interessanter dan de strenge, passionele juridische strijd die ermee gepaard ging, stellen Amin Taha en zijn team een verzorgde en stevige architectuur voor, gekenmerkt door een sterke relatie tussen bestaande en hedendaagse herinterpretatie, complexer dan ze op het eerste gezicht lijkt. Hun projecten behelzen allerlei soorten maten en programma's en hebben verschillende prestigieuze nominaties en prijzen op hun kerfstok, waaronder de RIBA's Stirling Prize en de EU Mies Award 2019.
