Als hoogleraar stedenbouw in Milaan en München, werkt hij in / publiceert hij over steden en architectuur. Hij komt naar Brussel om te praten over zijn nieuwste project ["Learning from Gulf Cities"](https://www.nyuad-artgallery.org/en_US/arts-center-project-space/gulf-cities/), dat het resultaat is van zijn samenwerking met de Italiaanse fotograaf **Michele Nastasi** en vooral de Amerikaanse socioloog **Harvey Molotch**. Ze zijn geïnteresseerd in de verstedelijking van dat deel van de wereld, de contrasten en onvolledigheden ervan. Maar ook in welke mate dit fenomeen nieuwe gedachten en vormen oplevert. Hun project, initieel een tentoonstelling (New York 2016, Abu Dhabi in 2017,...) arriveert nu in conferentieformaat in Recyclart, voorafgaand aan de uitgave van een nieuwe boek in 2019: "The New Arab Urban : Gulf Cities of Wealth, Ambition, and Distress", van [Harvey Molotch](https://nyupress.org/author/2519) and [Davide Ponzini](https://nyupress.org/author/7758).
