Onze gids door de stad is Evert Klinkenberg van **[BETA OFFICE](https://beta-office.com/)**. Hij neemt ons mee naar verschillende delen van de stad en toont ons manieren om ze te vernieuwen. Om te beginnen de locatie van hun kantoor. Beta Office for architecture and the city (2015) is een architectuurbureau dat gevestigd is aan de NDSM werf in Amsterdam Noord. Vanuit deze voormalige scheepsbouw-werf (ooit de grootste van Europa) en huidig cultureel-artistiek bolwerk probeert het bureau de stad door middel van hun projecten te verrijken, zoals terug te lezen is in de bureaunaam. Het bureau is in 2015 opgericht door twee partners. **Evert Klinkenberg** heeft 10 jaar lang in Zwitserland gewoond en gewerkt als architect en docent en **Auguste van Oppen** heeft zijn architectuurkoers gevaren binnen de Nederlandse context. Uit de combinatie van deze twee achtergronden is een bureau ontstaan dat een sterke positie inneemt ten opzichte van de bouwcultuur en het gebouwde resultaat.
