Op welke manier inspireren ze ons tot een nieuwe benadering van materie? Een avond over het minder evidente verband tussen schimmel en architectuur. **[MAŸTU BIOMATERIALS](https://www.instagram.com/maytu.biomaterials/)** Duo tussen Ugo, gepassioneerd door biologie en in het bijzonder mycologie en Anouk, textielontwerpster. Op een artistieke en gedocumenteerde manieren onderzoeken zij deze micro-organismen. Samen experimenteren zij met hun capaciteiten om organisch materiaal om te vormen, te transformeren en te reorganiseren. Zo onderzoeken ze de eigenschappen van het mycelium van verschillende paddestoelenstammen in het bos, of van kombucha bij de productie van cellulosefilamenten. In Brussel hebben zij het Fungal Lab ontwikkeld, een experimenteel champignon-laboratorium, waar zij nadenken hoe deze organismen oplossingen kunnen bieden voor bodemsanering, gezondheid, bouwmaterialen, flexibele en isolerende materialen, enz. **[BENTO ARCHITECTURE](https://www.instagram.com/bento.architecture/)** Bento is een vereniging van architecten die volop experimenteren met materie. Levende materie stelt de duurzaamheid van onze huidige productiemethoden en hun impact op onze manier van leven in vraag. Vanuit deze constatering willen de architecten van Bento een brug slaan tussen architectuur, kunst en design. De architecten bewegen zich tussen fasen van experimenteren met levende materie en fasen van ontwerpen, waarbij de twee elkaar voeden, de ene de werkelijkheid bevraagt, terwijl de andere ze concreet maakt.
