Gevoed door zijn Verre Oosterse afkomst, zijn Amerikaanse reizen en zijn huidige verblijf in Europa, bestaat de kern van zijn werk uit een zoektocht naar de gemeenschappelijke kenmerken van volkeren, hun identiteit en mythen. Herinneringen, metamorfosen, het profane en het heilige, zijn weerkerende thema’s in zijn foto’s.
