In maart brengt het label drie nieuwe mixcassettes met etnische muziek uit en dat is de aanleiding voor deze avond die in het teken staat van etnische klanken, gekruid met filmvertoningen, pittige Bombay snacks, dampende muntthee en een geut tequila! Discrepant-oprichter **Gonzo** grasduint in zijn verzameling oude cassettes, gesproken woord-cd’s, stoffige lp’s, radio-opnames, omgezette youtubemuziek en ander geruis voor een verrassende collage van klanken en sferen uit heel de wereld. De Brusselse muzikale octopus **Lowdjo** kocht vorig jaar op reis in Thailand een pak 45 toerenplaatjes en maakte er voor Discrepant een mixcassette mee. Afgewisseld met pareltjes uit andere exotische streken en opgeklopt met hedendaagse elektronica, belooft dit een spannende reis in ruimte en tijd te worden. **Cédric Stevens** begon in 1993 als techno dj en producer, onder het pseudoniem Acid Kirk. Vanaf 1997 gaat hij de experimentelere toer op met zijn project ‘The Syncopated Elevators Legacy’ (S.E.L.). Met ep’s als ‘Siamese Level’ en ‘Still Between the Battle & the Sheet’ toont hij zijn veelzijdigheid, zowel op vlak van com-positie als klankkleur en samplemateriaal. Voor deze avond pakt Cédric de sitarklank uit de Indiase ragatra-ditie aan, vakkundig versneden met drones, noise en pastorale ambient.
