NATTE LIJVEN, GLADDE VLOER!** **Festa Afro Tuga** is gestart in 2016 door de NGHE Mediatheek en Rebel Up als feestelijkheid in Brussel om de Afro Portugese muziekcultuur te vieren, met gastDJ's van Celeste Marisposa, Principe Discos label en live artiesten van de Afro Portugese diaspora. Vijf epische en wilde edities werden tot nu toe gehouden in verschillende Brusselse zalen. Gente sabi, puxa! [**Celeste Mariposa**** ](https://soundcloud.com/celestemariposa%20%20)is een dj uit Lissabon die sinds 2010 met onconventionele sets furore maakt: zeldzame vinylparels uit de Lusofone (‘Portugeestalige’) Afrikaanse muziek, geïnspireerd op Afrikaanse ‘bailes’ uit de 5 ex-portugese kolonies (Angola, Kaapverdië, Guinee Bissau, Mozambique, San Tomé & Principé). De meeste van deze opnames zijn totaal onbekend in het Westen maar afrobaile is de hete swingende bakermat van de groove. Een straffe selectie van instrumentale Kaap-Verdische funana tot de rauwe Angolese merengue en semba, naast gumbé uit Guinee Bissau en Mozambikaanse marrabenta. Gewoonweg onweerstaanbaar. **[Diron Animal](https://dironanimal.bandcamp.com/)** brengt aanstekelijk ritmische dansmuziek uit de Angolese getto's, waarbij elektronische productie en traditionele muziek samensmelten. [**Lua Preta**](/admin/evenements/%20https:/soundcloud.com/luapreta) is een Angolees/Pools duo bestaande uit zangeres/MC Ms. Gia van Angolese afkomst en de Poolse DJ en producer Mentalcut. Samen brengen ze een razende mix van moderne elektronische muziek en Afrikaanse genres die niet alleen kenmerkend is voor mevrouw Gia's geboortestreek Angola, maar ook voor het hele continent – verwacht kuduro, afrohouse, gqom en meer. [**DJ Nervoso**](https://principediscos.bandcamp.com/album/dj-nervoso%20) werd geboren in São Tomé en Príncipe, een Portugeestalige eilandnatie in de Golf van Guinee, voor de westelijke equatoriale kust van Centraal-Afrika, maar is nu al meer dan twintig jaar gevestigd rond Lissabon. Als godfather van het PRÍNCIPE label staat hij bekend om zijn onbevreesde benadering van ritme, waarbij het hypnotiserende gevoel van stampende drums een betoverend effect heeft. Zijn geluid is bedoeld om de dansvloer te verenigen, niet te verdelen. Nog voordat hij begon te producen, merkte Nervoso al snel dat sommige mensen vervreemd waren van de Angolese kuduro op feesten, om de eenvoudige reden dat ze niet de specifieke bewegingen kenden om erop te bewegen. Daarom paste hij de beats van deze geliefde dansmuziek aan veranderde hij de codes voor een meer inclusieve ervaring.
