Nu komt er nog een dimensie bij: de Rotterdamse postpunkband Rats on Rafts staan mee op scène. Ouwe rotten en jonge honden bewerken elkaars nummers. Het resultaat volgens Franz Ferdinand’s Paul Thompson in Pitchfork: “The best act I’ve ever seen at a festival”. Maar dat wisten we al. Het botst, schuurt en staat soms lijnrecht tegenover elkaar om dan weer eensgezind samen te komen in stampende ritmes en raggende gitaren. Of zijn het blazers? Rats en De Kift zijn één bal energie die het ene moment over je heen rolt om dan weer een totaal onverwachte kant op te stuiteren. Meer dan 10 man live op scene. Soms gestolde weemoed, soms pure gedrevenheid. Altijd intens.
