Gebaseerd in Buenos Aires, Argentinië, ontstond de band in 2017 uit de behoefte om een uniek geluid te vinden met een atypische bezetting, gekenmerkt door de aanwezigheid van de bewerkte cello. Blanco Teta bestaat uit Carola Zelaschi op drums, Carlos Quebrada op elektrische bas, Violeta García op cello en zang, en Josefina Barreix op zang. Hun eerste album *BLANCO TETA* verscheen in 2017 op cassette bij het label TVLREC, en in 2019 namen ze hun tweede album op, dat in maart 2020 werd uitgebracht via het label GOZARECORDS.
