Ik begon foto's te maken zonder echt te weten waarom. Ik probeerde telkens weer een verhaal op te bouwen. Op weg naar de vertelling ontmoette ik het raadsel. Mijn foto's zweven op de bries die men 'symbolisch' noemt. Mijn werk is beïnvloed door zogenaamd volks geloof. Dit geloof weerspiegelt onze verhouding met de natuur en haar invloed op ons. Dit geloof creëert een zekere intimiteit, gewild of ongewild, met onze omgeving en degenen die ons dierbaar zijn.
