Brecht werd in 1986 in Hasselt geboren en ging naar LUCA School of ARTs in Gent voordat hij zijn praktijk begon, die hij sinds 2013 vanuit Parijs, waar hij woont en werkt, voortzet. Prijzen, erkenningen, boeken, fresco's en andere formaten blijven zichzelf heruitvinden in en rond het werk van deze kunstenaar met zijn herkenbare gekke, gevoelige en meerlagige stijl. Zijn laatste boek Les Rigoles werd uitgebracht in augustus 2018. Voor dit stripboek werd Evens bekroond met de Fauve-Prix Spécial du Jury op het Angoulême Comic Book Festival 2019.
