Tashattot is a socio-cultural collective committed to elevating the voices and practices of artists from the SWANA region, now dispersed across Europe. Rooted in values of inclusivity, collaboration, and cultural exchange, Tashattot offers a platform for expatriate artists to showcase their talents, share their narratives, and engage with diverse audiences, through an array of artistic initiatives including events, exhibitions, performances, and workshops.

With Recyclart, and part of the Sonic Sessions concert program, Tashattot Collective invites Tedzi and ghenwa noiré to perform their latest projects for the first time in Brussels on March 15th.

Teddy Tawil [aka tedzi]

Lebanese multi-instrumentalist and electronica artist currently residing in Berlin. His sound is an explosive blend of bashed rhythmical interventions [time hackeDDD], dystopian scapes, nervous transients, and agonizing tones, reflecting themes of deconstruction, collapse, and the destruction of destruction. His most recent work explores ever-changing sequencing techniques and the concept of resampling the self as a tool for digital resurrection.

ghenwa noiré (LB)

Performer and installation practitioner. noiré explores improvisation using their electro-bouzouqi setup influenced by recurrent socio-political topics. their experimental music is a mix of oriental-synth, and singing.

in their storytelling performances they include topics on oral history, mental struggles, and daily life survival; all while emphasising on the notion of repetition. till now ghenwa’s performances were intended to be ephemeral and based on the moment. At the moment, they are working on producing their first debut EP which will be released later in 2025.

In 2024, ghenwa facilitated ‘the Insurgent Learning workshop’ initiated by Sonic Acts. in 2023, they initiated the Hacked Orchestra project. and in collaboration with Hackers & Designers collective the workshop/ final presentation was presented at the Muziekgebouw. noiré previously performed at Singelkerk, Van Gogh Museum, Radion, Worm Rotterdam, Sonic Acts Biennale, Stedelijk Museum, Documenta15.
