Happening in English. The different performances and walks are all interconnected. We encourage you to follow the whole event.
Air is a shared — and increasingly threatened — resource. Artistic, activist, and spatial practices explore how air, as a common good, can be reimagined and cared for collectively. What does it mean to breathe in a city shaped by cars, emissions, and unequal access to space and health? From embodied reflections on mobility and the environment to playful gestures of resistance, STADPLURAAL calls for a shift in perspective: from extraction to care, from car logic to a politics of breath
Program
16:00 > 22:00 Saunra nonstop w/ David Bernstein @ Recyclart
16:00 Rush HourAssembly w/ O.J.A.I @ Jardin de la Cité Administrative
The speculative para-intelligence agency Office for Joint Administrative Intelligence (O.J.A.I.), founded by German artist Chris Dreier and Irish artist Gary Farrelly, presents a two-part intervention at Boulevard du Jardin Botanique: a live bureaucratic reenactment of the former Koekelberg Viaduct, transforming infrastructural memory into administrative incantation. In an overgrown garden behind the city’s administrative buildings, O.J.A.I. stages a sound piece and speculative bureaucratic rituals that conclude with a toast to improbable futures, blending performance, sound, costume, and absurd procedure.

17:30 Guided Visite Car-City w/ Martin Rosenfeld; Inter-Environnement Bruxelles @ Heyvaert Street, meeting point: Clemenceau metro station
Martin Rosenfeld is an anthropologist who has been working in the Heyvaert neighborhood for over 10 years. His research focuses on the subtle forms of globalization and the transformation of the area, particularly through the lens of the Euro-African trade in second-hand vehicles for export. He works for Inter-Environnement Bruxelles (IEB), the federation of neighborhood committees that has been advocating for nearly 50 years for a more democratic approach to urban development.

18:30 Performance Autobio w/ Kenza Lansari @ Recyclart
In her performative project Autobio, artist Tunisian-Belgian Kenza Lansari explores Heyvaert Street in Anderlecht, where discarded vehicles are exported to North Africa for a “second life,” exposing post-colonial networks of outsourced ecological responsibility. From a queer-feminist perspective, the work interweaves documentary practice and self-reflection, questioning personal privilege, structural responsibility, and Western notions of sustainability.
20:30 Performance & Exchange Musée Gonflable w/ Lucas Engels & Love Ssega @ Recyclart
Artist Lucas Engels presents a handcrafted inflatable bouncy castle made from repurposed truck tarps, joined by activist Love Ssega (LIVE + BREATHE). Together, they invite reflection on air pollution, play, and joy as collective forms of resistance and care.
