Leurs concerts sont si imprévisibles et fascinants qu’ils en ont un goût de transe chamanique. A l’origine (1998-2012), ils utilisaient presque systématiquement des guitares et des instruments jouets pour articuler leur idiome musical. Fin de l’année passée, ils ont radicalement changé de cap et usent maintenant d’instruments à cordes bricolés maison, ce qui confère un son nouveau à l’intégralité de leur univers musical. Ce nouveau départ a été documenté sur un double LP 'Art Is A Tear Of Noise And Infinite Silence', sorti chez Discrepant records en octobre 2012. Ce soir, c’est donc leur premier concert belge avec ce nouveau concept. MCIAA a joué e.a. avec Sonic Youth, Christian Marclay, Thurston Moore, Keiji Haino, Lee Ranaldo, Jim O'Rourke, Loren Connors, Jackie-O Motherfucker, Nels Cline, Text of Light, Steve Roden, Okkyung Lee, Mats Gustafsson. Ils étaient e.a. à l’affiche du festival All Tomorrow Parties dont Thurston Moore était commissaire et leur discographie est plutôt vertigineuse. **Rough Americana** est la collaboration féconde de **Morgan Craft** et de son amie, **DJ Mutamassik**. Ce duo engagé s’épanouit dans une toute une gamme de styles fascinants d’impro contemporaine. Le côté Viking afro-américain de Craft et les racines italo-égyptiennes de Mutamassik garantissent des influences musicales de Memphis, Tennessee jusqu’à Memphis, Egypte. Mutamassik est une des pionnières du hardcore Sa’aidi et experte en ce qu’elle appelle les ‘Pan-Afrabic Immigrant sounds’. Avec elle, hiphop afro-méditerranéen et breakbeats baladi côtoient des collages plus noisy et drone.
