En 1999, ils s'installent à Paris, et poursuivent leur formation de manière différente : Clément étudie la typographie pendant 2 ans (DSAA typographie à l'école Estienne), puis travaille chez Gédéon (agence d'habillage télé). Thomas travaille en 2000 avec Malte Martin (travail d'image pour 2 théâtres), puis rejoint l'équipe d'H5 jusqu'en 2002, puis s'installe en tant que graphiste indépendant. En 2003, avec Thomas Dimetto, ils fondent "la bonne merveille", collectif-trio de design graphique. Le trio travaille à 6 mains pendant 4 ans, puis se sépare en 2007, dans le souci de préserver la liberté d'expression de chacun des membres. Thomas Couderc et Clément Vauchez, fondent alors Helmo. Ils travaillent dans le champ élargi du design graphique : création d'images, affiches, signalétique, typographie, design éditorial… Ils collaborent principalement avec des institutions culturelles et des festivals en France : Palais de Tokyo, Festival de Jazz de Strasbourg, Gaîté Lyrique, L’Opéra au XXe siècle (livre), Lux, Israel Borderline (livre), Semaine Internationale des Arts Numériques (Evry), CAPC (Musée d’art Contemporain, Bordeaux), Chaumont, etc etc. Helmo est installé à Montreuil, France.
