[Local Studio](https://www.localstudio.co.za/) est un bureau d'architecture et de design urbain basé dans le quartier de Brixton, à Johannesburg. Fondé par Thomas Chapman en 2012, le bureau, utilisant les anciennes zones ouest de la ville comme étude de cas, se focalise particulièrement sur le fait de réintroduire du 'public' ('publicness') dans la ville post apartheid. Aujourd'hui, Local Studio emploie 15 personnes à temps plein et son portfolio de travaux réalisés, très diversifié, comprend des bâtiments publics, des plans de design urbain et des maisons privées. Le bureau travaille principalement dans les secteurs du logement abordable, de l'infrastructure sociale et de l'espace public et est à l'origine de plusieurs projets ayant joué un rôle important dans la régénération du centre de Johannesburg.
