Une voix surgie des ténèbres, à la fois hyper urbaine et émanant d'un autre espace-temps. Deux ans plus tard, le Mexicain/Américain/Ethiopien amorce un tournant avec la sortie de l'album ‘A Sufi and a Killer’ sur le label Warp Records. Ensuite 'Callus', l'année suivante. Puis 'Mandela Effect', cette année. Gonjasufi joue avec la texture et l'érosion des sons, sans se soucier de lâcher de gros beats bestiaux, mais sans sombrer dans des mélodies trop nebuleuses. Le meilleur de x mondes. Il sera accompagné de son duo de beat makers, Skrapez (Jon Calzo aka Tenshun et David Lampley aka Psychopop). L'intro et l'outro seront assurées par Lowdjo en personne, qui navigue depuis longtemps sur la même longueur d'onde spirituelle et musicale que Gonjasufi.
