A l’origine, projet ponctuel monté par d’anciens membres de Belgian Afrobeat Association, aujourd’hui c’est un groupe d’adeptes afrobeat atypique. S’inspirant e.a. du légendaire Fela Kuti, Shakara United joue principalement des compos instrumentales ébouriffantes aux rythmes funky et aux grooves savoureux le tout mâtiné de solides incursions de cuivres et de synthés. Line up: Jelle Van Giel (drums) / Steven Van Gool (bass) / Ken Pichal (guitar) / Peter Van den Berghe (keys) / Babs Jobo (percussion) / Sarah Van Impe (percussion) / Dirk Timmermans (trumpet) / Marc Meeuwissen (trombone) / Eric Morel (saxes) / Stefaan Blancke (bariton sax/trombone). \+ invité spécial: Simon Pleysier, gitariste de Zita Swoon **Jungle By Night** est une bande de neuf électrons libres d’Amsterdam qui ont fusionné leurs goûts musicaux en un cocktail détonnant et irrésistible d’afrobeat, ethio jazz, funk, dub et rock. Ce tout jeune collectif a déjà si bien fait les preuves de son énergie et de son talent qu’il a fait l’ouverture de The Roots of John Legend et partagé le podium avec des pionniers tels Mulatu Astatke, Orchestre Poly-Ritmo de Cotonou et Tony Allen. Sans oublier qu’ils ont fait fureur, le premier jour du Lowlands festival aux Pays-Bas l’été passé. Ne vous laissez pas assombrir par l’automne, venez plutôt vous réchauffer aux grooves les plus torrides du moment.
